In a project with AMPC, FloVision's Fingerprinting technology carried a single carcass ID from the boning hall through to the packed, labelled carton — matching primals, steaks and box labels at up to 100% accuracy.

Once a carcass is broken down past quarters, physically labelling and tracking every piece becomes impractical — and adds foreign-body and quality risk. So the link between an individual carcass and the primals, sub-primals and cartons it produces is usually lost at the boning hall. Preserve that link without new infrastructure or procedural upheaval, and it unlocks value across yield, genetics, quality control, recall speed and market-access verification.
FloVision's Fingerprinting technology captures a unique visual signature of each object and matches it between locations — analogous to facial recognition, but for beef. Working with a commercial processor and AMPC, FloVision installed permanent capture stations from the start of the debone hall through the retail packing room to the box-labelling line, validating three linked capabilities: matching primals back to carcass ID, tracing primals forward to individual steaks, and automatically verifying that a carton's contents match its printed label.
Capture is passive and camera-based throughout — no operator button-pushing, and no new steps on the line.
Every validation stage met or beat its target. Carcass-to-primal matching on striploin and cuberoll reached about 100% of identifiable primals with zero false positives, against a 95% target. Primal-to-sub-primal matching traced all 10 striploins in the batch to their 156 steaks — 100%, with no false positives. And box-label verification read 1,275 of 1,275 label fields correctly, counted contents across all 83 test videos, and reconciled contents against the printed label end to end at 100%.
The outcome is a single carcass ID carried unbroken from the boning hall to the packed, labelled carton — proven at a live commercial plant, and ready to scale across more cut types, lines and sites.
One carcass ID, carried unbroken from the boning hall to the packed carton — validated stage after stage at up to 100% accuracy.
